News

The Tour of Hope will be more unifying than ever!

Moncton, May 11, 2020—Even though the current pandemic has forced the cancellation of many events, the 10th edition of the Tour of Hope, presented by Assumption Life, is still on track for this year. Cycling enthusiasts will be happy to learn that the annual event has been reinvented, all the while considering the current constraints we are all subject to.

The chair of the CHU Dumont Foundation Board of Directors, Lise Caissie, is especially pleased to share the news. “We were really anxious for the Tour of Hope to be held this year, while taking into consideration the restrictions,” she said. “As we all know, cancer has not taken a back seat to this pandemic. The cause of the Tree of Hope is as important as ever.”

Cyclists from all over the province and elsewhere—whether they’re beginners or experts—are invited to join the movement and pedal for the cause. Everyone will be challenged to help reach the collective goal of 375,000 kilometres before the Tree of Hope Radiothon, scheduled for Friday, November 27, 2020. This number represents the approximate combined kilometres travelled by participants since the first edition of the Tour of Hope in 2011.
