Moncton, NB – Tuesday, September 29th, 2020 – The Tree of Hope 2020 campaign was officially launched this morning. Nadine Martin, Executive Director, along with David Michaud, campaign ambassador, and Dr. Clément Arsenault, Dumont UCH internal champion, kicked off the annual campaign.

“I am proud to report the Tree of Hope returns this year,” says Ms. Martin. “The campaign and the Radiothon will no doubt be different from the previous editions, but one thing remains; the needs at the Oncology Center are still as pressing as ever.”

As per usual, the campaign will aim to improve comfort and care for cancer patients through the purchase of specialized equipment for the Dr.-Léon-Richard Oncology Center, and by offering advanced training opportunities for specialized oncology teams here in New Brunswick.

David Michaud, Branch Manager at National Bank of Canada and pillar in the business community of the Greater Moncton area is delighted to act as ambassador for the campaign.

“I am pleased to be part of the Tree of Hope campaign’s team for this year. A few years ago, health issues brought me to the Oncology Centre. That is one of the reasons why I’m pleased to support this cause, so that patients like myself have access to the best possible care.”

The campaign team is also fortunate to have Dr. Clément Arsenault, chief physicist at the Oncology Centre.

“I am proud to take part in the Tree of Hope campaign, because since its beginnings, our Oncology Center has benefited from many pieces of equipment that allow us to offer the best possible care to our cancer patients. I am pleased to do my part so that, with the help of the CHU Dumont Foundation, our team can continue improving the treatments offered to our patients through the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment.”

The Tree of Hope campaign is supported by volunteers everywhere across the province, who every year, raise funds to ensure its success.

Since it started in 1989, the Tree of Hope campaign has raised over $30 million. The money raised is used to improve the care provided at the Dr.-Léon-Richard Oncology Centre and in the various units or departments at the Dumont University Hospital Centre that provide services along the continuum of care for cancer patients, for example the Mgr.-Henri-Cormier Lodge.
